Over the Victoria long weekend Klaus took me on a surprise trip to the
Sooke Harbour House on Vancouver Island.
The Sooke Harbour House is located on the southwest coast of Vancouver Island about an hour's drive from Victoria.
The house is surrounded by a well kept edible garden. And every evening salads and herbs make it onto the dinner plates of the guests. The food is as outstanding and tasty as the service! A great retreat to go to and get pampered, enjoy the culinary and wine treasures, the view of the ocean and the Washington mountains in the far back, the wildlife, the coast, and so much more.
Every day at 10:30 one of the knowledgeable staff members leads a tour through the gardens. It is an interesting stroll even for somebody who is untalented when it comes to gardening but does truly appreciate good food. One is given herbs and flower petals to smell and eat. The variety of scents and tastes were incredible.
